PRODIGAL 2014

April 13, 2014 - We were blessed to have all met together for a few days of reminiscing and catching up. Loyd was in great spirits, and we all felt that it was a very special time. And now we know how very special it was. Loyd passed away peacefully on April 22, 2014 with his wife and children by his side.

Thanks to you guys for the work and travail of kicking around the country on tour back in the day. It was like God sent you guys down here to Pearland just to rescue me. Even though I knew Dave from the Paul and Dave band and knew right from wrong I was living a dry life of the flesh and sin. Talking to Dave after the concert and being honest about where I was really got me started thinking, and God ran with it from there. Dreams, revelations, challenges, and that still small voice called me out to Him. Thanks. I am a life that was changed.

Greetings!! I was doing a search for music from my younger Christian days and thank the Lord I found you! Prodigal was the very first Christian concert I attended as a baby Christian. You guys came to my home town of Dickinson in North Dakota and held your concert at our state college auditorium. I've always loved your music and I just wanted to tell you how God used you to minister to this young Christian. I'm sorry to hear about Loyd! My condolences to all of his family and to the other band members. May God bless and keep all of you in Jesus Mighty Name! Brad Anton

Thinking about GREAT Christian bands I used to listen to, and you all were high on the list. Very sorry to hear of Lloyd's passing, though I am happy he is with the Lord, now. Blessings to you all.

I first became aware of your music while working at the campus radio station at Marion College (now IWU) in my freshman year. First song I played on my show was "Scene of the Crime." What a great song! Powerful lyrics! Had the privilege of seeing you perform live in Gas City, Indiana in October 1984. Great show! I always thought the band deserved better than it received. You were a cut above most Christian rock bands of the time as you did not shy away from social & political issues in your music. Your song "Electric Eye" prove to be very prescient given the reality of the social media world in which we live today. Thank you for three wonderful albums that I still play, on vinyl, to this day. Sorry to hear about Lloyd's passing. My prayers are with you, your families & Lloyd's family. God bless!

After being fortunate enough to have worked with Dave at Arc Recording I am blessed to have known Dave I was a young struggling Christian and the things I observed in Dave still stick with me til this day . Dave one thing is for sure I wasn't surprised to see where you ended up God bless you richly and the music is awesome!

The Lord truly blessed me with a great B-day gift as I am the recipient of the final copy of your CD Set. I just happen to throw Electric Eye on the turntable as I spent the morning listening to some classic tunes. Of course my new turntable is better than what I had 30 years ago. I decided to look around and see what was up with Prodigal and ended up here. Coincidence? I think not - but it was all bitter sweet when I saw that Loyd had passed. Other bands have come and gone for me but Prodigal will always stand the test of time! Thanks for a tremendous effort - both now and then!

Just got my set of the Anniversary Limited Edition set this past week and blown away. The remaster sounds so good. True fan since the 80's and pretty much wore out my LP's/Cassette copies of these albums. Thank you guys!

I don't know what brought you guys to mind this morning but I thought I'd look you up again and feel like I've found gold. I only owned the 3rd album on vinyl and just listened to a sampling of the tracks on the Music page and it all sounds great. Congratulations - BURN IT UP sounds INCREDIBLE! And the older stuff is very appealing - excited to get a copy of all 3 and get reacquainted with PRODIGAL. Thank you and bless you. The LORD reigns - let His people rejoice!

Pulled my vinyl Electric Eye this morning to play while working from home, wondered about if on CD, searched Amazon and WOW...there it was, but sold out. Did a search and found Prodigalnow! Ordered the set! One of my all time favorite Christian Bands ever(!), as many have said. As I am listening I am sitting here crying, tears of joy and sadness...those years were rough years as a Christian youth mostly alone in the vast plains of N.D. Music was my refuge..Christian music became my only refuge after I discovered GOOD CCM in the early 80's starting with White Heart, Petra, Prodigal etc. My first concert was Petra. But my second was PRODIGAL in the great city of Dickenson on the Real Life tour. There were not many of us at the concert and I had not bought Real Life yet...couldn't sing along on the new stuff but the youth leaders sure were! The concert was amazing...I did not know who sang what and was surprised when Loyd belted out his first song..WOW. I am so thankful for all of you and for all that your music did for me during those years. So sorry to hear of Loyd's passing..so sad for us, but so glad for Loyd..so envious that he is with the Lord. God bless you all.

I was lucky enough to work with Prodigal. I've known them since the very start via Jon Phelps. What you hear and see is all true, they were fabulous writers and performers with purpose. I produced and engineered Just Like Real Life and the experience for me was wonderful. I miss Loyd, he was a true musical "genius" but he had incredible creativity visually as well. Thank you Prodigal for allowing me to be a small participant in your enormous talent and legacy. GP
